Types of locations
DMV Customer Service Centers handles issues like registration, titles, licenses, CDL, non-driver Id's, permits and other issues. Vision, knowledge and road tests can also be scheduled here. DMV CSC are generally open Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturday, 8:00 am-12:00 pm, except for state holidays. Some centers also are open on Saturday. Before visiting in person, make sure you verify the hours and services of the selected center.
DMV Select Locations offer select services by contracting with private contractors and the local government. DMV Select Locations offer titles, license plates, registration services, placards, requesting transcripts and voter registration applications. They are open Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except for state holidays, but timings may vary. Some locations may also work on Saturday. Before visiting in person, make sure you verify the hours and services of the Select Location you want to go.
Vehicle Emission Inspection Stations handle issues like vehicle inspections. These inspections are only required in Northern Virginia. To find an Emission Inspection Station near you, follow this link. Emission Inspection Stations are open Monday-Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, except for state holidays, but timings may vary by station. Before visiting in person, make sure you verify the hours and services of the Station you want to go.
